Yesterday in class we did research on interesting facts on population. For example in 2018 there was 37.9 million people living with HIV/AIDS. I expected this number to be drastically lower. There are many health organizations in the world who advise people to be safer with their spouses. But there are still small countries out there who are developing their resources instead of focusing on this issue. Another interesting fact is Nauru has the highest obesity percentage in the world. 61% of their population is considered obese by regulation. On that small island of 9,692 people, 5,912 of them are obese. That is not good for the people, but it's just amazing to me half their population is obese. When i think of island natives I would picture them having a good physique. After hearing the statistics it completely changed my view of them.

Today we talked about the effect humans had on the land and how they changed it. For example, Manhattan was a plain island. Not many buildings or skyscrapers reaching into the sky. There wasn't even that many people living on the island. But then they started to build homes and workspace. Now more people came to the island to find a new home or job. When people think of New York city they think about new opportunities. When the buildings were finished, many people came to the city, they started their own businesses. Soon more and more people came, and the population grew. It could be compared to the gold rush in the west when everyone moved out to find fortune. The city is always working and always moving. Now the people of New York city are living life with hope of a better future. They wake up each morning to become a better person than they were yesterday.
We got our tests back today. The class averaged around a 75%. We had notes to use and we still tied with the honors class who didn't have notes. I need to take better notes for my blog. All my notes were in my notebook but we won't use that. We will only be using the blogs. A couple of people got A's on the test. Others not so much. Fun fact every single person who took the test got this one question wrong. It was a trick question that messed with our perception and our thinking. The question had specific coordinates on it, but it doesn't exist in the world. Everyone just took one glance at the numbers and and assumed it was absolute location. It worked because no one got it right, next time we won't be tricked
