Today
in class we had a quiz. The quiz was on the north and central American
countries. I believe I got one of the answers wrong on the North American
countries. Other than that, it was easy. I studied hard during advisory, so the
countries were still fresh in my mind. That last minute study was a major help
to me. The website was also a huge help to me. It took me eight tries, but I
finally got 100% on both categories and under a minute. The most frustrating
was definitely the north American countries. The countries down south are so
small and close together I got them confused. For some reason I kept putting
Costa Rica where Honduras should be. It was very frustrating at first but
eventually on the day of the quiz I was able to tell the two apart. The
central America countries were the easiest to identify. The countries were
spaced out and much larger.

Today we talked about the effect humans had on the land and how they changed it. For example, Manhattan was a plain island. Not many buildings or skyscrapers reaching into the sky. There wasn't even that many people living on the island. But then they started to build homes and workspace. Now more people came to the island to find a new home or job. When people think of New York city they think about new opportunities. When the buildings were finished, many people came to the city, they started their own businesses. Soon more and more people came, and the population grew. It could be compared to the gold rush in the west when everyone moved out to find fortune. The city is always working and always moving. Now the people of New York city are living life with hope of a better future. They wake up each morning to become a better person than they were yesterday.
We got our tests back today. The class averaged around a 75%. We had notes to use and we still tied with the honors class who didn't have notes. I need to take better notes for my blog. All my notes were in my notebook but we won't use that. We will only be using the blogs. A couple of people got A's on the test. Others not so much. Fun fact every single person who took the test got this one question wrong. It was a trick question that messed with our perception and our thinking. The question had specific coordinates on it, but it doesn't exist in the world. Everyone just took one glance at the numbers and and assumed it was absolute location. It worked because no one got it right, next time we won't be tricked
